
According to the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2026 released by international startup research organization StartupBlink, Taiwan has advanced to 20th place among 120 economies worldwide, climbing five positions from last year and achieving its highest ranking to date.
At the city level, the Taipei Tech Corridor, centered around Taipei City, rose 15 positions to rank 39th globally, marking a record high.
In addition, Taiwan ranked 7th worldwide in the Hardware & IoT category, highlighting the strong innovation capabilities and international competitiveness of Taiwan’s technology ecosystem, with Taipei serving as a key hub for startup development.
The Taipei City Government will continue to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through Subsidies and Incentives for Taipei Industry, while further strengthening Taipei’s position as a startup-friendly city in Asia.
